Mekong Energy Company Ltd., conscious of its responsibilities and duties, fully intends to be exemplary and ambitious in Occupational Health and Safety matters. This ambition, founded on its ISO 18001 certification, is a commitment to Sustainable Development and contributes to Social Responsibility.
The Management and the staff of Mekong Energy Company commit to take care of the people and to manage for continual improvement of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) performance. For this purpose, the principles of MECO’s OH&S Management System are:
To minimize as low as possible the health and safety risks of each work activity
- To prohibit or stop any work as soon as a risk is detected
- To analyze and take corrective action when an accident or a near missed accident occurred
- To develop the safety awareness and attitude of our staff and our subcontractors
- To setup the annual OH&S’s objectives and targets
- To regularly monitor, assess and review the OH&S management system.
- To comply with applicable legal and other requirements.
- To make available OH&S information to the staff and third parties.
The objectives and targets are publicized throughout the ISO standard of Occupational Health and Safety Management Manual, and all staff is committed to their achievement.
MECO’s Occupational Health & Safety Management System is fundamental to our business. Our business plans include measurable OH&S targets and we are committed to meet them.
The success of this commitment depends on the sharing of the responsibility between Executive Committee, Supervisors, all MECO employees and contractors.
